This is a small website for a single book. It has no accounts, no logins and no newsletter. The short version: it counts visits so the author knows whether anyone is reading, and that is essentially all.

Who runs this site

This website is run by Marina Males, author of What I Don't Want To Be When I Grow Up, based in Perth, Western Australia. You can reach her at info@danicadesign.com.au.

What is collected

The site uses Google Analytics 4 to measure traffic. It records:

• which pages you visit, and how long you stay
• roughly where you are, at city or country level — never a precise location
• your device type, browser and screen size
• how you arrived, for example from a search engine or a link
• whether you clicked a buy button, and which one

This is aggregate, statistical information. It is used to understand which pages are useful and whether anyone actually buys the book. No attempt is made to identify individual visitors, and Google Analytics 4 does not store full IP addresses.

What is not collected

• No names, addresses or phone numbers — there are no forms on this site
• No payment or card details ever reach this website (see below)
• No advertising or cross-site tracking pixels
• Nothing is sold or shared with data brokers

Cookies

Google Analytics sets cookies (named _ga and _ga_…) to tell whether a visit is new or returning. They expire automatically after up to two years.

You can block or delete them at any time in your browser settings, or install Google's official Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. The site works perfectly well without them.

Choosing your Amazon store

When the "Buy on Amazon" button sends you to your own country's Amazon store, that is worked out from your browser's timezone setting, which is already on your device. No location lookup service is contacted and nothing about your location is sent anywhere. If it guesses wrong, the full list of stores is right underneath the button.

Buying the book

Payments are not handled by this website. The buy buttons take you to Stripe or to Amazon, who process the order and handle your payment and delivery details under their own privacy policies. Card details never touch this site, and the author never sees them.

• Google Analytics — visitor statistics
• Google Fonts — the typeface used across the site
• Stripe and Amazon — only if you click a buy button
• The site is hosted in Germany, so page requests are served from there

Your choices

You can browse without cookies by blocking them in your browser or using the opt-out add-on above. If you would like to know what data relates to you, or want it deleted, email info@danicadesign.com.au and it will be handled. Because the analytics data is not tied to a name, there is usually nothing to look up.

If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it.
